About Me
My background
My name is Taylor Duran, and I'm from Texas, where I was born and raised. I spent about 9 years playing billiards until I started and focused more heavily on my writing career. I never thought this is what I would be passionate about, but it wasn't until I voluntarily checked myself into a behavior health hospital that I found my passion for story telling. While I was in there I found myself looking at all the other individuals who sat beside me and I realized they all felt what I felt, unseen. So, during a group therapy session we were instructed to write a story for 10 minutes, and I started writing Kayla Find Me! I knew my calling was to help people, but up until then I had no idea how I was going to do it. Thankfully, I was able to figure it out! In school I never enjoyed writing, but maybe that's because it was prompts I didn't find all that interesting.
I HATED writing!
As a child I never really enjoyed writing about anything, but I did enjoy reading very much. Especially, over playing video games. There was something about imagining written work instead of seeing someone else's interpretation of something. So, I kind of feel into writing when I had a manic episode and had to get hospitalized for it. Everyone I met in there felt like I did, alone and unseen. So, I decided to share my personal story with the world through a fantasy series. A bit about my process
My writing process is still developing day by day. My debut novel was written by stream of consciousness, meaning that I had a beginning and an ending in mind. However, getting there wasn't planned at all. I just wrote whatever came to mind and went with it. Now, as I am writing my second novel in this seven novel series, I have begun to do more research, document everything, and have a more structured way of planning. biography of author
